Altar Servers/Monaguillos

Training for Altar Servers is provided periodically during the year for all children and youth (boys and girls) interested in assisting the priest at Mass. Special instruction is also provided to those scheduled to serve at special Masses. Those wishing to assist at Mass as Altar Servers must have received their 1st Holy Communion. It is recommended that altar servers be enrolled in continuing religious formation classes, to deepen their understanding of Scripture, the Mass and their Catholic Faith. They are scheduled on a rotating basis during the month. Generally there will be at least three servers scheduled for each Mass. There is a monthly gathering for Altar Servers, as well as an Annual Altar Server Camp sponsored by the Diocesan Vocation office, and a special Mass to recognize the service of altar servers throughout the Diocese. Las sesiones de entrenamiento para Monaguillos se ofrecen periodicamente durante el año para niños y niñas participar sirviendo en el altar al Sacerdote durante las Misas. También se les darán instrucciones para las Misas especiales. Los niños o niñas interesados deberán haber hecho su Primera Comunión. Se recomienda que los Monaguillos, continúen con las clases de Formación Religiosa para fomentar la Fé Católica, la Enseñanza de las Escrituras y la Misa. La asistencia de Monaguillos a las Misas se planea en un horario de rotación mensualmente. Por lo menos tres monaguillos atienden en cada Misa. Hay una reunión mensual para los Servidores del Altar, así cada año la Oficina de Vocaciones de la Diócesis ofrece un Campamento para todos los Monaguillos y una Misa especial donde se dan reconocimientos a su gran servicio. Altar Society

The St. Luke Altar Society was organized in 1996. Its members minister to the community by enhancing the environment for our worship. This ministry promotes Christian Living and Service in St. Luke Parish, as well as to foster the spiritual development of its members. Responsibilities include caring for the altar, altar linens and vestments, decorating the church according to liturgical season, and helping to maintain the beauty of our sanctuary. Eucharistic Ministers/Ministros Eucaristicos

Extraordinary Minsiters of the Eucharist assist the priest at Mass by helping to distribute communion (in the form of either consecrated hosts or consecrated wine) to the community of the faithful. In addition, with some additional training and the approval of the pastor, some Eucharistic Ministers also take Eucharist to the sick and homebound in our community. This includes regular visits to several area nursing homes. Ministers are scheduled to serve at Mass on a rotating basis. Training for Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist is provided throught the Tepeyac Institute, the diocesan center for formation of ministers. Call Tepeyac (872-8420) for more information.



Los ministros Eucarísticos asisten al sacerdote ayudándole a distribuir la Eucaristía, (hostia o vino consagrado) a los feligreses de la comunidad. Tambén ayudan en llevar la Eucaristía a lost enfermos de nuestra comunidad, ya sea por enfermedad o porque están deshabilitados y no pueden salir de sus casas. Esto incluye visitar a varios de los asilos de ancianos. Formación para los ministros de Eucaristía es proporcionada por medio de Instituto Tepeyac, el Centro de Formacioón de la Diócesis de El paso. Hospitality/Hospitalidad

At St. Luke we strive to be a welcoming community. A big part of this effort is our friendly team of Hospitality Ministers who assist at all the Masses. We are looking for cordial, kind, courteous people to help welcome people to our parish as Jesus would have welcomed them. Training is provided as needed. 



Aquí en nuestra comunidad de San Lucas luchamos para ser una comunidad acogedora. Una gran parte de nuestros esfuerzos en ser una comunidad acogedora es nuestro equipo de ministros de Hospitalidad que asisten en todas las misas. Buscamos personas que sean cordial, comprensivos y amables para dar la bienvenida a nuestra parroquia así como Nuestro Señor Jesús nos daría la bienvenida. Se proporciona entrenamiento en forma como sea necesario. 

Lectors/Lectores

Lectors assist at Mass by proclaiming the Word of God in the Assembly. A lector must be able to read well, pronounce words clearly and project his/her voice. Annually lectors are provided with English and/or Spanish language Handbooks to help them prepare to serve at Mass. Lectors are encouraged to spend time reading and praying about the Scripture they will be proclaiming. Ministers are scheduled to serve at Mass on a rotating basis. Los lectores participan en las misas proclamando la Palabra de Dios en nuestra asamblea. Deben de leer bien, pronunciar claramente y proyectar su voz. Cada año se les proporciona un libro guía para ayudarles en su preparación para servir en nuestra misa. Se les pide a lost lectores que pasen tiempo repasando y orando sobre las lecturas que van a proclamar. Los ministros son asignados a siferentes misas en base a una rotación que se repite, dependiendo del número de participantes en el ministerio. Music Ministry

Add your voice to the Music Ministry. We can also use your skills on the piano, organ, guitar, violin, flute, or any other instrument. We have different groups at every Mass. For more info, contact Claudia Egger at the office at 915-585-0255.
